Rebecca Macdonald
Executive Chair
Rebecca MacDonald is Executive Chairman of the Board of Just Energy Group Inc. Ms. MacDonald was the principal founder of Just Energy and has been a director since 2001. She has been engaged in the deregulation of natural gas for over 20 years. Before forming Just Energy in 1997 she was the President of EMI, another gas marketing company. She became an officer of Just Energy in January 2000 and previously served as Chief Executive Officer. For the past four years she has been Just Energy’s Executive Chair. She is a past director of the Canadian Arthritic Foundation and is actively involved in a number of other charities. She founded the recently opened Rebecca MacDonald Centre for Arthritis research at Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital. She was named Canada’s top woman CEO for 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 by Profit Magazine. She was also named Ontario Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young in 2003. On April 3, 2009 she received the International Horatio Alger Award — Canada.
R. Scott Gahn
Chief Executive Officer
R. Scott Gahn, was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in August 2019. Mr. Gahn has a long history in the deregulated energy industry, having served on the Electric Reliability Council of Texas board from 2005 to 2008 and having been involved in the sale of deregulated and regulated electricity and natural gas for over 28 years. He was one of the founding shareholders and Chief Executive Officer of Just Energy Texas LP, which was acquired by the Company in 2007. Following the acquisition, Mr. Gahn was the Chief Operating Officer of Just Energy until June 2011.
Jim Brown

Jim Brown brings several years of industry experience ranging from retail energy operations, merger and acquisitions, budgeting and forecasting, risk management, systems development and more.
Jonah Davids
Executive Vice President and General Counsel
Jonah Davids joined the company in December 2007 and currently holds the position of Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Prior to this, Mr. Davids held the position of Senior Vice President, Legal & Regulatory and General Counsel. Before joining Just Energy, Mr. Davids practiced corporate and commercial law at McMillan LLP.
Brent Moore
President of North America
Brent Moore was appointed President, Just Energy North America in April, 2019. Prior to his current role Brent successfully ran Just Energy’s North American commercial business, Hudson Energy. During Brent’s tenure, Hudson Energy experienced significant sales growth and major improvements to customer experience. With over 16 years in retail energy, Brent was the founder and CEO of Save On Energy, which he grew to be the largest marketplace for US residential and commercial consumers in deregulated markets to shop and purchase energy. Brent has also served in various senior executive and business development roles in the telecommunications industry.
Paul Hellings
CEO of Hudson Energy UK
Paul Hellings was appointed CEO of Hudson Energy UK operations in May, 2019. Paul joins Just Energy from Virgin Media, a communications infrastructure company providing fibre, broadband, mobile telephone, TV and internet services to UK businesses and consumers. At Virgin, Paul was the Managing Director of Virgin WiFi and Regional Director for Virgin Media, accountable for delivering world-class service to around 5 million customers. Paul brings a wealth of experience in organisational growth and transformation, sales and business development, and customer and employee engagement from across some of the UK’s most successful businesses.
Dan MacDonald
Senior Vice President, Filter Group
Dan MacDonald was appointed Senior Vice President, Filter Group for Just Energy in September, 2018. Dan graduated from McGill University of Montreal, Canada with a Bachelors of Commerce. Before successfully establishing Filter Group, MacDonald previously spent time at Just Energy Inc. MacDonald’s responsibilities included business development and a specific focus on mergers and acquisitions. Taking his experience from Just Energy, MacDonald created a vision for Filter Group which was recently acknowledged by Profit Magazine and is listed as one of Canada’s Hot Top 50 Startups. This was MacDonalds third startup and second transaction.
